Every afternoon, Pip folded a paper flag from a napkin, taped it to a straw, and marched along the boardwalk shouting, “Melt for joy!” The flag was small, but it was his own invention, and it snapped in the salty wind like a tiny sail.
Until one day, the sun boomed extra bright, and the glue went squish. Because of that, Pip’s flag drooped into his vanilla swirl. Because of THAT, the sprinkles slid, the cherry rolled, and Pip had to dash under a cottony cloud with sticky fingers and a pounding heart. “Not yet!” he cried.
