Every afternoon, after the bell-shaped clock went ding-ding, Kiko carried one lucky fish charm through Sparkle Alley to the prize booth. She kept her tail high, her bow neat, and her shoes tapping fast over the shiny stones. Then one day, a lavender yarn ball rolled out from under a moon-vending machine and whispered, “Psst! Chase me!”
Because of that, Kiko darted after it past silver hearts and twinkling signs. Because of THAT, the yarn bounced over wet paw prints that appeared one by one, warm and glittery, smelling like sugar cookies. At the alley fountain, the yarn unwound into an arrow pointing at a hidden door behind the prize booth. Kiko clipped the fish charm onto the handle, and click! The door opened to a room of purring clockwork kittens. Next time you spot her wink, see if you can trace the runaway yarn from where the ding-ding began.
