🎨 How to color it

Color the knight’s armor pearl silver, her plume rosy pink, the flower shield sky blue and gold, and the little castle warm sandstone. Use sharp colored pencils for the hearts, stars, curls, and tiny shield petals, then switch to broader strokes for the cape and clouds. Try making every heart on the armor a matching ruby red so her handmade game pieces feel like a secret set.

Behind the practice yard wall, someone was tapping tin with a spoon: tink, tink, secret-tink. Sella had cut six tiny crowns from old lunchbox lids and wanted to prove her new game worked before supper. The rule was simple: hide a crown token by each flower that matched her shield, then follow them back without peeking. Easy—until the wind snatched the lightest crown and sailed it over the wall.

Sella stepped onto the garden lane, where mint leaves brushed her boots and bees hummed like little saws. She paid for the trip with one pink ribbon from her plume, tying it around a bramble so she could find the way home. At the bend, she spotted her crown glittering beside a castle daisy, dented but perfect. “That counts,” she whispered, pressing the token flat with her thumb.

When she returned, Sella had all six crowns—and muddy knees, and a better rule. Now every player had to make one token by hand before joining. Next time you see her raised glove, keep the secret: the game begins with tink, tink, secret-tink.
