🎨 How to color it

Color the vampire’s cape deep purple, the jack-o’-lantern bright orange, the trick-or-treat bag candy-corn yellow, and the moon soft buttercream. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big round face, wide cape panels, pumpkin sections, and open night sky. Try making each tiny bat a different nighttime color—navy, gray, and plum—so the sky feels friendly and busy.

Under the buttercream moon, Vito swung his soft treat bag down the moonlit lane. He wanted one shiny sweet to rattle inside it—just one click-clack candy for the walk home. The bats squeaked above the crooked roofs, and dry leaves whispered around the pumpkins.

Beside a smiling lantern, Vito met a tiny sky-sprite with cold silver fingers. Its star had fallen dim into the grass. Vito opened his bag and took out his only candy, a lemon drop bright as a window. “You can have mine,” he whispered.

The sprite tucked it into the little star, and warm yellow light blinked on. Ever since that quiet night, Halloween stars have glowed like hidden candies for children walking home. If you peek at the sky around Vito, can you spot the first candy star?
