🎨 How to color it

Color Moses’ robe warm ivory, his cloak deep blue, the stone tablets pale gray, and the mountain behind him sandy tan. Use a sharp pencil for the beard strands, robe folds, and mountain lines, then switch to broader strokes for the large tablet shapes. Try a soft sunrise glow behind the clouds so the pale tablets look as if they are catching quiet light.

Every evening, Ezran set a thumb-sized stone chip beside his sleeping mat and traced its smooth edge while the campfires hissed and goats shuffled in the dust. It was only a scrap from the mountain path, but his father had pressed it into his palm before climbing away to help prepare the elders’ tents. “Hold this until the words come down,” he had said.

Then one day the mountain vanished inside cloud, and thunder rolled so low it trembled in Ezran’s teeth. Because of that, the camp grew whisper-quiet; even the cooking pots seemed to clink softly. Because of that, Ezran stopped asking when and started listening—to wind combing the tent ropes, to sand ticking against his sandals, to the small hard stone warming in his hand.

Until finally, a figure came down through the bright mist, carrying two great tablets against his chest. The waiting burst open without shouting. Ezran lifted his little chip and saw it was the same color as the tablets, plain and patient and touched by light. Next time you spot the rounded stones in his arms, imagine Ezran’s tiny one waiting below, smooth as an evening by the campfires.
