Under the hush-hush sky, Lumi set one pebble in the star bowl and waited. The leaves made soft swish sounds. The little stars smiled and smiled.
Plink. Another pebble. Plink. Lumi waited more. Then a tiny heart peeked out from under the biggest star’s point, warm as a cookie crumb. “Oh,” whispered Lumi.
