🎨 How to color it

Color the princess’s gown lavender with pink flower panels, the unicorn pearl white with a golden horn, and the rainbow in soft candy stripes. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny stars on the dress and mane, then fill the larger hills and clouds with smooth, even strokes. Try making the castle a cool pale blue so the warm flowers and golden crown feel like the secret center of the meadow.

At the edge of the royal meadow, a loose streak of sky-color kept slipping from cloud to cloud, hissing like silk pulled through fingers. Princess Seren chased it past daisies and thistles because the morning had gone flat and gray wherever it touched. Her unicorn, Brindlewish, stamped once, and dew jumped from the grass. “It’s hiding from the wind,” Seren whispered, as if you were the only one allowed to hear.

They searched the obvious places: under mushroom caps, inside buttercups, even behind the little hill castle’s blue flags. Nothing. Then Brindlewish shook her mane, and from the curls tumbled a tiny glass button, warm as sunlight. Nobody looks for sky-magic in a unicorn’s messy hair, which is exactly why the first color had hidden there.

Seren pressed the button to the nearest cloud. The loose color sprang up, curved across the meadow, and tucked both ends into soft white pillows, as snug as a ribbon tied around a gift. Ever since, rainbows bend because every bright color remembers the meadow where it belonged; if you trace this one from cloud to cloud, can you spot the place Brindlewish kept the secret?
