🎨 How to color it

Give the puppy warm caramel fur, the pumpkin costume bright orange, the crescent moon pale yellow, and the wrapped candies berry pink and mint green. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big pumpkin panels and floppy ears, saving a sharper pencil for the candy stripes and tiny stars. Try making the pumpkin top a darker orange than the round body, so the puppy’s face peeks out like a little Halloween surprise.

Under the sugar-smelling moon, Pip made a new game called Moon-Munch. He rolled candies across the floor and tried to stop each one inside a star shadow. Plink, plink, peppermint! He wanted one perfect ring around his pumpkin suit before bedtime.

Then the crescent moon gave a tiny creak. Behind the lollipop stick, a small whisper said, “Too bright.” Pip saw no one, only a shiver in the candy dots. So he nudged his best star candy into the dark place and looked away.

Nibble-nibble. A hidden moon-mouse took it, then left three silver crumbs on Pip’s pumpkin leaf. Ever since, pumpkin pups scatter candy where shy feet can find it under the sugar-smelling moon. Next time you spot the candy trail, can you guess which piece was left for someone no one saw?
