🎨 How to color it

Color the sleeping cat soft cream, the crescent moon pale gold, the swirling cloud ribbons lavender and sky blue, and the big pointed stars silver. Use sharp colored pencils for the moon’s curled patterns and tiny star dots, then switch to smooth side-strokes for the wide cloud bands. Try shading the space behind the cat from deep navy at the corners to violet near the moon so the pale fur glows.

Between two sleepy cloud swirls, Calla patted her crescent hammock and frowned at the loose corner. One silver starseed would pin it perfectly. The star river hissed softly around her, smelling of cold rain and candle smoke, but the nearest seeds glittered far beyond the safe gold curve.

She stepped out along a ribbon of cloud. It wobbled like whipped cream under her paws. A comet breeze tugged one whisker loose from her careful grooming, and a sun-spark warmed her nose until she sneezed, “Pfft!” At last, she reached a bright seed tucked beside a grand pointed star—only to hear a tiny tapping inside the moon behind her.

Calla carried the seed back, slower now. In the crescent’s lowest carved curl, where nobody ever checked, a round door blinked open. Inside were three star-mice shivering in a nest of broken moon threads. “This belongs here,” Calla whispered, pinning the silver seed above them. The hammock corner still drooped, but the crescent purred beneath her paws. Next time you see her curled there, can you spot the secret curl that made the moon feel like home?
