🎨 How to color it

Give the sloth warm cocoa-brown fur, the bat wings deep purple, the leafy branches moss green, and the smiling crescent moon buttery yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big wing panels and sloth body, then help little hands tap small dots of color into the stars and leaves. Try making the moon glow with a pale yellow ring around it, so the sleepy sloth looks like it found the softest Halloween sky.

The story behind this coloring page

Nori’s Moon-Nap Cape — High in the hushy treetop, Nori stitched two black leaf fans together. Read the full story →

High in the hushy treetop, Nori stitched two black leaf fans together. Snip, tug, pat—he wanted a moon-nap cape for the tiny parade that drifted past his branch each Halloween night.

He climbed out to find one silver thread. The bark felt cool under his toes, and the leaves smelled like rain. Then—pssst—a moon moth landed on his nose. “Trade?” she whispered. Nori gave her his last green ribbon, the one he had tied himself. She left a shimmer-thread, soft as spider silk.

Back on his branch, Nori sewed it through the cape. It twinkled when he hung upside down, proud down to his claws. Next time you spot his little smile under the moon, can you keep the secret of the shimmer-thread?
