🎨 How to color it

Color the butterfly’s patterned wings coral, lemon yellow, and sky blue, the bumblebee’s fuzzy bands golden yellow and black, the clover blossoms pink, and the tall flower on the right bright poppy red. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny wing circles, leaf veins, and clustered flower centers, then switch to broader strokes for the big petals and bee stripes. Try hiding one secret purple clover among the pink ones, as if only the butterfly and bee know where it is.

The story behind this coloring page

Nella’s Clover-Whisper Game — Under the tallest poppy in the clover thicket, Nella tapped one leaf, then two, then three. Read the full story →

Under the tallest poppy in the clover thicket, Nella tapped one leaf, then two, then three. Her new game was called Clover-Whisper: if she could touch only heart leaves without rustling a blade of grass, the garden would have to tell her its quietest secret. The air smelled green and peppery, and every stem trembled like it was holding its breath.

A bumblebee named Rusk buzzed close, soft as a furry drum. Nella wanted to keep playing alone, but the fourth clover stood across a dark gap where beetles clicked under the leaves. Her wings prickled. “Will you hum while I cross?” she asked. Rusk hummed low, bmmm-bmmm, and Nella flew through the shadow to tap the waiting leaf.

At once, the clover folded its three hearts around the sound and opened again, brighter than before. From that evening on, clovers kept their leaves heart-shaped so brave little whispers would have a place to land. If you find one tucked below the buzzing path, maybe it is still saving Nella’s first brave bmmm-bmmm.
