Every day, Bram rolled slowly around Windy Hill, waiting for the last leaf to fall on his little car. Swish, swish, swish went the branches. “Not yet,” he told the squirrels, who tossed acorns at his roof and laughed.
Until one day, a giant leaf flapped onto his hood and would not budge. Because of that, Bram drove even slower. Because of THAT, he heard a tiny tickle-tickle under the leaf. Finally he lifted one corner and found three sleepy crickets with toy trumpets. They blasted, “Ta-da!” and the squirrels fell over giggling. Next time you spot the big leaf on Bram’s car, can you guess where the trumpets hid while the branches went swish?
