Every afternoon, after the warm wind made the cloud puffs smell like sugar, Rilla tapped three star-stones and invented a game called Rainbow Dash. She had to hop from the first star-shadow to the big cloud at the rainbow’s foot before the red band finished glowing. “Ready, wiggle, go!” she shouted, and her hooves thumped the soft sky-grass.
Until one day, the rainbow glowed one band at a time—red, then a long orange pause, then a slower yellow shine. Because of that, Rilla had to sit and count tiny sparkles instead of racing. Because of that, she noticed the blue band humming like a bee and the cloud-curl spinning faster and faster. At last, when the violet band blinked on, Rilla leaped through the curl and won her own brand-new rule: patient racers get the biggest whoosh. Next time you see her grin under those stars, can you spot where the whoosh begins?
