Every day, Pippa rolled three pumpkins beside the fairground lane and tried to stack them by herself. Thump, bump, wobble! The pumpkins smelled like dirt and sun, and Pippa’s mittened hands got stripey with orange dust.
Until one day, the littlest pumpkin sneezed. Because of that, it hopped off the pile and bonked an acorn. Because of that, the acorn popped open with a tiny ding, showing a hidden brass bell where nobody had looked. “My tower needs a topper!” Pippa laughed.
