🎨 How to color it

Try emerald green for the velociraptor’s feathers, golden yellow for the butterfly, slate gray for the rocks, and fresh lime for the ferns. Use sharp colored pencils for the many feather tips, fern leaflets, and tiny claws, coloring from the outer edges inward to keep the details crisp. Add a pale blue dotted flight path behind the butterfly, then make the raptor’s raised eyebrows a darker shade so its startled face really pops.

Under the split stone by the creek, Quill kept three dewberries cold in moss. He meant to eat them before noon, when the sun made every pebble smell hot and dusty. But the moss was dry. To chill the berries again, he stepped out toward the little waterfall, claws clicking hush-hush over the stones.

Halfway there, a shimmer moth tumbled from the ferns, all crooked wings and powdery gold dust. “Don’t tell,” it whispered. “I’m too tired to reach the night blooms.” Quill looked at his berries, then at the bright wings shaking like leaves. He paid a tiny price: one berry crushed soft between two pebbles, juice shining in a secret puddle. The moth drank, fluttered once, and vanished under a root.

Quill brought back only two cold berries, plus a new secret: giving can feel like carrying moonlight in your chest. If you follow the little flutter trail by the ferns, you may spot where nobody saw him share.
