🎨 How to color it

Color the giant planet with creamy ivory cloud bands, burnt orange swirls, rusty red storm ovals, and pale lavender moons. Use sharp colored pencils for the thin maze-like cloud lines, following each band from one edge of the planet to the other so the curls stay clear. Try making the biggest lower storm fade from deep red at the center to soft peach at the rim, like a slow whirlpool of light.

Under the amber hum of the gas giant, Quill sharpened his blue pencil to a perfect point and promised himself he would count one quiet storm before supper. Not the booming copper belts, not the crackly white curls—one storm that made no sound at all. His listening shelf was warm and safe, smelling faintly of oilcloth and toast, but the silent swirls hid beyond the marked rail.

So Quill clipped on his tether and stepped onto the rim path, where the air tasted cold and metallic. He traced oval after oval through his spyglass. Hiss. Murmur. Rumble. Each storm spoke a little. At last, near the lower cloud sea, his pencil point snapped on the glass with a tiny tick. “Oh, wait,” Quill whispered. Without the sharp point scratching, he heard it: a round, soft hush turning inside a red-rimmed oval.

He came back with no neat number, only a blunt pencil and a quieter ear. Next time you follow the curls around that lower storm, keep still for one breath; Quill would say that is where the amber hum begins.
