🎨 How to color it

Layer the dragon’s scales in jade and deep emerald, make the belly plates warm ivory, and set the spiral clouds in smoky lavender and pale gray. Use sharp pencils for the small overlapping scales, coloring from the outer curve inward so your hand does not smear finished sections. For a tattoo-flash glow, fade the flame-shaped wind from golden yellow near the dragon to red-orange at the tips.

Every evening, Soren wound through the cloud shrine’s incense smoke and placed sparks along the carved rafters, making a private game of guessing which lantern would catch first. The monks below never looked up; their bells answered the wind with small bronze sighs. Until one day, a storm swallowed the valley path, and the last lantern stayed dark, cold as wet stone.

Because of that, Soren changed the rules: no points for beauty, only for usefulness. He curled through the black air and breathed gold into cloud after cloud, spending the sparks he had saved for his own amusement. Because of that, the pilgrims reached shelter without knowing whose fire had braided the sky. At dawn, Soren circled once through the lavender smoke, wonder-struck by the empty path, and set one final spark along the rafters, guessing which lantern would catch first.
