Under the Stunt Dome, engines purred like sleepy lions and popcorn butter floated through the air. Toby rolled to the tall ramp, practicing the tiniest honk he could manage. He wanted one real honk before his first jump, not the squeaky peep that kept slipping out. His tires ticked over the packed dirt, bump-bump, while the crowd’s paper fans fluttered like a thousand moths.
He climbed the ramp, saw the roof lights shining hot and white, and let the jump carry him. For one strange second, the arena turned into a bowl below him. Then Toby noticed something nobody on the ground ever checked: taped to the underside of the roof beam was a tiny rubber chicken wearing goggles. It squeaked at him.
Toby’s honk burst out loud enough to shake dust from the rafters. The crowd laughed, the chicken squeaked again, and courage felt suddenly small enough to fit behind his grille. When you spot Toby in midair, can you find the roof where the first brave honk bounced back?
