The story behind this coloring page

Under the counter, where the floor smelled like sugar cones and lemon soap, Veda kept a crooked wooden spoon she had carved from a fallen pear branch. She wanted to use it for the first taste of her new peach fizz, but the spoon’s handle had one strange mark: a tiny hill with three dots. When the truck’s old radio crackled, a whisper slipped through the static. “Bring it where the wheels first rested.”

So Veda rolled out of the garage before lunch, past puddles that slapped the tires and branches that brushed the roof with soft shh-shh sounds. At the hill park, she paid her small price: the truck bumped so hard that her best stack of napkins burst open like white birds. She chased every napkin, laughing and puffing, until one stuck to a bench with the same hill-and-three-dots carved underneath.

Behind the bench, under clover that smelled green and wet, Veda found a flat stone marked with her spoon’s pattern. Her grandmother had parked a snack cart there years ago and carved the sign while waiting for her first customer. Veda stirred the peach fizz with her own lumpy spoon, proud of every uneven notch. “First sip for the old spot,” she said. Next time you see the crooked spoon by the window, can you find the tiny hill that brought Veda back?
