🎨 How to color it

Give the husky a charcoal-gray saddle, cream chest and muzzle, icy blue eyes, dark pine-green trees, and lavender shadows on the snowy mountains. Use sharp colored pencils for the thin fur strokes around the ears, chest, and curled tail, then switch to lighter side-strokes for the wide snowbanks. Try a pale peach sun sinking behind cool blue clouds so the husky’s warm cream fur feels extra cozy.

The story behind this coloring page

Soren’s Circle of Home — Before the blue evening settled, Soren pressed his paws into the soft basin snow and made a new game. Read the full story →

Before the blue evening settled, Soren pressed his paws into the soft basin snow and made a new game. “Follow what matches,” he told the three sleepy pups, and he chased the long shadows of rocks, pines, and peaks until each pup found a hollow that fit its paws. The air smelled of cold cedar, and far above, the first clouds slid like quiet sleds.

One pup, little Vesa, kept wandering. No shadow looked right to her. Soren lifted his curled tail to point toward a round drift, and the low moon slipped behind it, copying the same bright curve on the snow. Vesa tucked herself inside that moon-shaped nest with a sigh as soft as falling powder.

Ever since that night, huskies have carried their tails in a curl when they are content, so every pup can see the shape of home. Next time you spot Soren standing under the pale sky, can you find the curve that told Vesa she belonged?
