Under the tick-tick stars, Pip packed his tiny sound box. His pod nook felt too quiet; the bedtime hum that made his toes curl had gone missing. He stepped onto the crystal flats, where tall stones clicked softly in the cold blue dark.
Pip crossed three bumpy moon hills and traded his last honey puff to a sleepy dust moth for the path ahead. At the tallest crystal, every point shone, but none hummed. Then his boot tapped a plain round pebble. Mmmmmm. The sound was tucked inside it! “Home,” whispered Pip, holding it close.
