Every day, Quibble marched the school trail between the striped spires, counting dust puffs in his boots and pretending not to be bored. He wanted the others to try his brand-new game, Moon-Hop Mischief: hop over three pebble shadows, salute the nearest crater, then shout the silliest planet name you could invent. The only trouble was that his classmates liked neat lines, quiet steps, and snacks that did not bounce.
Until one day, Quibble whispered, “Blorpturn!” and leaped so hard his backpack kazoo squeaked. Because of that, the rover blinked, spun in a circle, and projected a glowing arrow onto the trail. Because of THAT, the dome keepers thought a festival had started and rang their soup lids like cymbals. Soon hikers, robots, and two sleepy crater frogs were hopping, saluting, and yelling names into the cinnamon-smelling wind.
Finally, Quibble climbed a flat crater rim and changed the last rule: nobody won until everyone invented one planet together. The shout shook stardust from the sky. Next time you spot the three little hikers on the trail, listen closely—maybe the biggest joy still sounds like “Blorpturn!”
