🎨 How to color it

Layer the large heart frame in deep ruby, the sunburst rays in antique gold, the curled scrolls in teal, and the tiny anatomical heart in warm rose. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow zigzags and stepped deco borders, turning the page as you follow each mirrored line. For a dramatic twist, shade the central pulse from bright white to electric blue so it feels lit from inside the heart.

The story behind this coloring page

The Secret Under the Pulse — Every night, Soren polished the brass ribs of the clock hall and listened for the one true midnight beat. Read the full story →

Every night, Soren polished the brass ribs of the clock hall and listened for the one true midnight beat. The room answered with tick, tick, tick, a dry gold whisper, while the high windows spilled fan-shaped moonlight across the black marble floor.

Until one night, the pulse line above the central dial paused between two silver clicks. Because of that silence, Soren heard a second sound below it: not a tick, but a soft thrum, like a moth brushing velvet. Because of that thrum, he knelt where no keeper knelt, pressed his palm to the cold seam, and felt the floor open.

Under the dial waited a small chamber lined with patient blue fire. At its center, a living heart kept time for all the clocks, not loudly, not quickly, but exactly. Soren did not wind it. He only sat beside it until midnight arrived, and the hall breathed one true beat through its brass ribs.
