🎨 How to color it

Color the graduation cap navy blue, the diplomas creamy ivory with gold ribbons, and the stars bright yellow around the big words. Use sharp colored pencils for the narrow confetti curls and leaf branches, then switch to markers for the wide block letters. Try a rainbow fade inside “BELIEVE” and a warm gold shadow on the “YOU DID IT!” banner to make the celebration pop.

Under the school plaza clock, Talia rubbed chalk dust from her fingers and crossed out another cheer. The ceremony would begin at sunset, and she wanted one line big enough for every graduate to shout. From her usual step by the fountain, she heard paper rustle beyond the star arch, where nobody went after the wind began ringing the flagpole ropes.

Talia stepped out anyway. Confetti skittered around her sneakers, and a cool smell of rain lifted from the stones. Beneath the arch, a loose tassel swung from a nail though no cap was there. “Say the words you needed first,” whispered a voice as soft as ribbon. Talia’s chalk snapped in her hand, leaving only a stub, but she wrote on the back of an old program: Believe in yourself.

When she ran back, the plaza lights blinked on, gold and buzzing. She climbed the fountain step and called, “You did it!” The words bounced from parents, teachers, and graduates until the whole square shook with happy noise. If you spot the banner and the little stars, keep the secret: the biggest cheer began with one whisper under the star arch.
