🎨 How to color it

Use golden yellow for the sunrise rays, soft ivory for the dove, sage green for the olive sprig and foreground leaves, and deep teal for the distant hills. Because the page is built from many long glass-like panels and outlined letters, layer colored pencils from each pane’s edge toward the center to keep the seams crisp. Try making the word “HOPE” glow warmer than “GROWS HERE,” as if the rising sun is lighting the message from behind.

Before sunrise, Corin pressed a plain copper stylus into the last clear pane of the hillside chapel, wanting one word made by his own hand before the village arrived. The tool had been his mother’s, dull-looking, warm as a held coin, and it hummed when it touched glass. He carved not a promise, but a place: HOPE GROWS HERE. At dawn, the letters caught gold, the mountains answered in green, and a white bird crossed the window with a twig. Ever since, hope in that valley has never floated away; it takes root where hands dare to make room for it.
