🎨 How to color it

Color the unicorn pearly white with a rainbow mane, the birthday cake strawberry pink with vanilla frosting, and the balloon bunches in cherry red, sky blue, and lemon yellow. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny banner letters, candle flames, gift patterns, and confetti curls, then switch to markers for the larger balloons and tablecloth. Try making the horn striped in the same colors as the balloons, as if the whole party has squeezed its cheer into one sparkly spiral.

Under the paper banners of the confetti hall, Bramble pressed both hooves over his mouth. The cake smelled like sugar clouds and toasted vanilla, and five candle flames wiggled in the warm air. He wanted to save one enormous birthday cheer until everyone arrived, so he only smiled, wider and wider, while the balloons bobbed squeak-squeak beside him.

A tiny rustle came from inside the biggest gift stack. Bramble leaned closer. Out popped a moth wearing a crooked paper party hat, dusty wings glittering with sprinkles of ribbon. “Is this where the boom goes?” it whispered. Bramble’s held-in cheer trembled up his horn with a fizzy zzzzip.

Then every ribbon curl, star cutout, and balloon string answered him—not with noise, but with tiny wiggles, as if the whole room had been waiting to laugh. Bramble lifted one hoof and let the cheer burst out. The moth sneezed confetti. The candles danced. Joy bounced from gift to gift until even the table legs seemed to giggle; can you spot where Bramble’s boom is still hiding under the paper banners?
