🎨 How to color it

Color the castle stones warm gray, the arched window sky blue, the rolling hills spring green, and the big flag cherry red. Use chunky crayons to fill the large brick rectangles and the wide flag shape; staying inside every line is not important. Add a tiny yellow dot on the flagpole ring, like a secret sun button at the top.

Behind the tall tower, Dovie whispered, “No peeking.” She had invented the Flap-Flap Game: hang one red cloth, then run away before it waved. The wind smelled like grass. Flap, flap!

But three cold hill birds went peep-peep under the pole. Dovie snipped two cozy triangles from the cloth and tucked them around the birds. Nobody saw. When the flag flew, it had a little V-tail forever after. That is why castle flags have tails. Can you spot Dovie’s secret snip in the flap-flap flag?
