🎨 How to color it

Color the cruise ship bright white with navy blue window glass, a red lifebuoy, and turquoise waves under the hull. Use chunky crayons for the big hull and decks, then switch to a sharpened pencil or thin marker for the many small windows. Try making every third window golden yellow, like little cabin lights waking up at sea.

Every day on the cruise, Nico tapped the dull brass button in his pocket and hurried past the elevator, hoping to trade it for the captain’s silver whistle. It had come from his old toy rocket, and it still made a tiny click-click when he pressed it.

Until one day, the deck bell clanged and a paper-wind race began on the highest deck. Because Nico waited while three strollers rolled into the elevator, he missed the start. Because he missed the start, he noticed the “BRIDGE LIFT” panel had one empty spot. He pressed his button in. Click-click! Up zoomed the little lift, salty air whipping his hair.

“You fixed it!” called the captain. At the top, Nico did not trade the button. He blew the whistle once, then tucked away the tiny click-click for later.
