🎨 How to color it

Color the butterfly’s swirly wings in teal, coral, and golden yellow, with a cherry-red mushroom cap, lavender rainbow bands, and a warm orange sun. Use sharp colored pencils for the tight curls, dots, and wavy wing channels, turning the page as you follow each spiral from the outside inward. Try making the butterfly glow with warmer colors than the cool blue clouds and purple stars, as if it has just flown into its favorite patch of sky.

The story behind this coloring page

Every day, Juniper tucked a dull tin key beneath her wing and zipped between the mushroom market and the sunflower roof, delivering dew letters before the first sunbeam warmed the grass. The key looked like junk, but when it tapped her side—tink, tink—it sounded like her grandfather’s laugh and the secret promise he had whispered: “When the sky hums, take the high road.”

One windy morning, the clouds began beating like drums, and the Cloud Parade lifted off without her. Juniper shot upward after it, past star bells and curly sunfire, but a rainbow bridge split into seven wild ribbons. Because of that, she looped left instead of right and landed on the cap of a laughing mushroom. Because of that, the tin key slipped free, spun in the light, and clicked into a tiny keyhole hidden in the mushroom’s tallest white spot.

At once, the rainbow ribbons braided into a road that matched every swirl on Juniper’s wings. She burst along it, faster than pollen, faster than thunder, until the parade opened around her like it had saved her place all along. Look near the smiling mushroom again—you can almost hear that little key go tink, tink.
