Every day, Willa marched down Zigzag Lane with her bag bump-bump-bumping and her shoes tap-tap-tapping. She wanted to deliver every heart letter before the bakery bell dinged, so she counted mailboxes as fast as popcorn pops.
Until one day, the swirly blue mailbox at number seven sneezed, “Whoosh!” Because of that, Willa peeked under its red flag and found a tiny folded map, warm as toast. Because of THAT, she raced past the leafy tree, around the yellow house, and back to the mailbox, where two wooden hearts clicked open like doors.
Inside was a little note: “Please feed me one brave letter.” Willa slid in the envelope with the heart seal. The mailbox chimed ding-ding before the bakery bell. Next time you spot that swirly mailbox, can you find where the whoosh was hiding?
