🎨 How to color it

Color the daisy petals bubblegum pink and soft lavender, the checkered heart black and white, the leaves mint green, and the rainbow arcs in preppy pastels. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big petals and rainbow bands, saving a sharper crayon tip for the tiny checkerboard squares. Try making the flower face warm peach so it pops against a cool blue stripe in the rainbow.

The story behind this coloring page

Pippa Shares the Rainbow — Every morning, Pippa caught sunbeams on her petals and tucked their warmth into the little heart above her smile. Read the full story →

Every morning, Pippa caught sunbeams on her petals and tucked their warmth into the little heart above her smile. The school garden smelled like wet grass and pencil shavings from open classroom windows. She waited for children to pass, hoping one tiny hello would make her glow brighter. Until one day, a silent rainbow slid down behind the fence and whispered, “I have too much color to carry.”

Because of that, Pippa lifted her leaves, and the rainbow poured soft stripes around her stem with a hush like satin ribbons. Because of THAT, sparrows stopped pecking crumbs, beetles climbed the bricks, and children pressed their noses to the gate, too amazed to shout. Pippa felt her joy grow bigger than her round face, so she nodded to the rainbow, and the colors arched over the whole path. When you find Pippa’s checked heart, can you imagine the first warm sunbeam she saved?
