🎨 How to color it

Color the two hearts cherry red and raspberry pink, make the wide ribbon sky blue, and fill the three little stars with sunny yellow. The big heart shapes are perfect for chunky crayons, while the bow’s folds can be traced slowly before filling them in. Try adding a darker blue stripe along one side of the ribbon loop so it looks like it is curling around the hearts.

Under the midnight post nook, Fenn tucked two warm heart-cakes into a paper tray. He wanted a blue ribbon to tie them before the sleepy mail-birds came, so he slipped out from his soft stamp blanket and padded across the cool counter. Snip-snip went his tiny scissors. But behind the ribbon spool, something rustled like dry leaves.

A star-moth blinked at him, dusted with gold. “I need a wrap for my wing,” she whispered. Fenn held the blue ribbon tight; it was his only piece. Then he tore it in two with a soft rip. One half hugged the moth’s wing. The other half tied the heart-cakes in a crooked bow. By morning, three star-specks shone where nobody had watched him help. If you peek at the little stars, can you guess which one thanked Fenn under the midnight post nook?
