In the hush-hush nursery, Pippa held her bottle and wondered, “How much moon-milk is left?” The bottle was smooth. No tiny lines. Outside, stars went blink-blink, and the room smelled like clean blankets.
Then a skinny moonbeam slipped through the window and tickled her nose. “May I count it?” whispered the moonbeam. Tap, tap, tap—it made little marks down the bottle, soft as kisses. Pippa smiled and drank to the last mark.
