🎨 How to color it

Color the baby elephant soft gray, the two heart flowers rosy pink, and the leafy sprigs fresh green with golden stars around them. Use chunky crayons or markers for the elephant’s big ears and round belly, then try a sharper crayon point for the small leaves, dots, and stars. Make the hearts around the elephant two shades of pink, as if its secret flowers are sending little glows into the air.

The story behind this coloring page

Zuzu and the Whisper Bud — Under the moon garden’s silver smell, Zuzu reached for one heart bloom to tuck beside her sleeping mat. Read the full story →

Under the moon garden’s silver smell, Zuzu reached for one heart bloom to tuck beside her sleeping mat. The best blooms grew past the tall leaf arch, where the night made soft hush-hush sounds. She took one tiny step, then another. A cool leaf brushed her ear, and she almost turned back.

“Who whispered?” Zuzu squeaked. To get through, she had to leave her cozy grass patch and bump over prickly seed pods. Ouch, ouch, but she kept going. Behind the smallest leaf, a secret bud popped open with a pink sigh. Inside was not one heart bloom, but two.

Zuzu carried them home, feeling taller than her shadow. Next time you see her smile between the heart flowers, can you find the little secret the leaves were hiding?
