🎨 How to color it

Color the cat soft cream, the jeweled crown golden yellow with ruby hearts, the arched window stones warm gray, and the little castle lavender. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big cat body and rug, and don’t worry if the color wiggles past the crown beads. Try making the moon pale yellow against a night-blue window so the crown looks extra cozy indoors.

In the nursery tower, the crown on Elska’s head felt dull as a spoon. Moonrise was coming, and she wanted one warm sparkle to greet it. She patted the heart rug: pat-pat, hush-hush. Something underneath went tink.

Elska lifted one corner and found tiny star seeds, silver as sleepy raindrops. “Oh,” she whispered, “you were waiting.” She tucked them into every jewel, and the crown glowed so brightly the far castle windows blinked awake. Elska purred and tipped her head, sending gentle dots of light across the rug, the walls, and the moon.

Ever since, crowns share their sparkles instead of keeping them. If you peek at Elska’s rug, can you find where the first little stars went tink?
