🎨 How to color it

Color the sleepy shark soft blue-gray, the crescent moon pale yellow, the bubbles light aqua, and the seaweed two cheerful greens. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the shark’s big smooth body, and don’t worry if little hands color over the simple wave lines. Try making the water darker near the moon and lighter near the sandy plants, like a quiet nighttime ocean.

In the blue hush, Lumi tucked a pearl button under her fin and patted her sand hollow flat. She wanted the button to shine on her own ceiling, where the water smelled like salt and sleepy grass.

Then a tiny crab clicked past. “The baby clams are dark-cold,” he whispered. Lumi slipped out, swish-swish, past tickly weeds and round bubbles. The button bumped away once, and Lumi scraped her fin on a shell to catch it.

At the nursery cave, she set the pearl where no one would see who brought it. Warm light filled every clam bed. Lumi went home without her ceiling star, but the sea seemed softer. If you find the moon button glowing, keep Lumi’s swish-swish secret.
