🎨 How to color it

Color the shark fin slate blue, the smiling moon butter yellow, the waves bright turquoise, and the little fish coral orange. The shapes are big and bold, so chunky crayons or markers can fill the fin and waves with relaxed, wide strokes. Try making each star a different color, like they are cheering for the shark’s splashy trick.

The story behind this coloring page

Every night, after the tide drums thump-thump on the rocks, Zella practiced her secret challenge: make one splash tall enough to tickle the moon. She flicked her tail, popped up her fin, and sent salty spray into the cool air. The moon only smiled its quiet round smile. “Tonight, you’ll giggle,” Zella whispered, and she zoomed toward the fattest wave.

Until one night, her fin sliced up so high that a bubble bonked a star. Because of that, the star sneezed glitter. Because of that, two tiny fish thought it was a parade and blew bubble trumpets—poop-poop! Soon every wave bounced after Zella like it knew her name. Finally, the moon gave a wobbly chuckle, and Zella splashed right back into her favorite bay. If you spot the tallest fin among the waves, you’ll know where Zella belongs when the tide drums thump-thump.
