🎨 How to color it

Color the shark soft aqua, the cheek ovals rosy pink, the bubbles pale blue, and the two starfish sunny yellow. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the shark’s big rounded body, saving the tiny eye highlights and bubble shine spots as white. Try making the bubbles lighter at the top and darker blue at the bottom so they look like they are floating upward.

The story behind this coloring page

Pip and the Quiet Glow — Every evening, Pip rubbed bits of tide-glass until they winked like tiny moons. Read the full story →

Every evening, Pip rubbed bits of tide-glass until they winked like tiny moons. He tucked the brightest pieces beside his sleeping nook, where the water hummed hush-hush over the reef.

Until one day, a little starfish drifted down, gray as a pebble and whispering, “I can’t find my glow.” Because of that, Pip nudged his best glass piece under the starfish’s arm. Because of that, silver light spilled over the sand, and the starfish floated home without seeing who had helped.

Pip kept only one small sparkle for himself. Next time you spot the bubbles around his smile, can you imagine them humming hush-hush?
