🎨 How to color it

Color the husky’s fur soft gray and white, make the striped scarf cranberry red and teal, and give the cabin a cozy honey-brown roof. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big snowbanks and husky body, saving a smaller crayon tip for the scarf stripes and snowflakes. Try adding pale blue shadows under the snowball and paws so the white snow still feels bouncy and bright.

Every evening, Oren pressed one ear to the snowbank and listened. Crunch, hush, crunch—the valley only answered with wind through the pines. He wanted to hear the snow hum like Grandpa Wolf had promised.

Until one day, a round snowball rolled past by itself. Because of that, Oren padded after it instead of pouncing. Because of that, it grew bigger and slower, gathering silver flakes from the quiet path. “Wait for me,” Oren whispered.

At last the snowball bumped a buried bell under the old pine. Dinggg! A tiny blue star blinked from the hollow nobody thought to check. Oren sat still as the snow began to hum, soft as moonlight. Next time you see his flying paws, can you find the patient snowball’s secret song?
