🎨 How to color it

Use honey brown for the bear, soft tan for the big belly and muzzle, and bright green for the grass tufts under its feet. For toddlers, chunky crayons are perfect for the bear’s wide belly and round head, and it is okay if the color goes past the thick lines. Add a tiny surprise by coloring the two paw prints in two different colors, like sky blue and sunny yellow.

Under the tickle-tall ferns, Tula wanted a hello for Pip the pill bug. Pip was too shy for loud waves, so Tula stepped out from her cozy grass spot. Squish, swish! Two paw prints waited in the dirt.

Tula followed them. A burr stuck to her foot. “Ouch-a!” she whispered. Behind the last fern, she found a tiny clay bell, hiding under a leaf. Ding! Pip peeked out. Then Pip rang it too. Ding-ding! Their joy got too big and wiggly to keep, so Tula waved everyone over. Can you find the prints where Tula first heard the ding?
