🎨 How to color it

Color the kitten soft silver gray, the cape deep plum with orange bat shapes, and the crescent moon buttery yellow with pale blue craters. Use sharp colored pencils for the cape’s tiny swirls, dots, and bat motifs, then switch to smoother strokes on the kitten’s round cheeks and striped tail. Try making the cape lining teal so the little fangs and moonlit fur pop against a cool night sky.

At the edge of the cloud meadow, a silver kitten named Tansy tucked her cape tight and waited for the moon-purr. It only happened when the big crescent hummed low enough to tickle her whiskers, and Tansy wanted to catch one purr all for herself in the bell under her bow.

She padded beyond the soft cloud tufts, past cold star-grass that prickled her paws. Halfway up a moonbeam, she heard a squeak like a hiccup in a teacup. A tiny echo-bat dangled from a star, shivering. “Don’t tell,” it whispered, “but I lost my squeak.” Tansy opened her bell to lend one small moon-purr. The bat’s ears wiggled; the purr bounced back twice as bright, warm as cinnamon toast.

Tansy carried the jingling purr home, but it would not stay secret. It buzzed in her cape, wobbled in her fangs, and made every sleeping bat grin. Next time you spot Tansy under that crescent, lean close—her whiskers may still be tickled by the moon-purr.
