🎨 How to color it

Color the bear honey brown, the pom-pom hat cherry red with white trim, the scarf candy-cane stripes, and the Christmas tree pine green with golden lights. Use chunky crayons or markers for the bear’s big round face and belly, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the tiny bulbs and snowflake arms. Try making each ornament a different bright color so the tree looks like it is giggling behind the waving paw.

Every evening, Niko waddled to the town square with a shiny star tucked under his arm, hoping to place it on the winter tree before the cocoa bell rang. He liked the crisp smell of pine and the plink-plink of little lights, but his paws were too round for the tall top branch. Until one day, a snowflake landed on his nose and sneezed, “Achoo! I am Captain Flurry!”

Because of that, Niko laughed so hard he bumped the tree, and the ornaments bobbled like jingly berries. Because of THAT, Captain Flurry called a whole crew of snowflakes to lift the star, but they also tied Niko’s scarf into a silly bow around the tree. Finally, Niko stood under the glowing star with his hat crooked, waving at everyone who came for cocoa. If you spot his raised paw, maybe Captain Flurry is still hiding in the crisp smell of pine.
