Every night, Fenna polished the crescent’s rim with her tail and set one new rule for Moonroll: no leaping, no rushing, only ride when three gold stars blinked in a row. The sky arcade smelled of cool glass after rain, and its cloud gates hummed while rainbow rails clicked into place.
Until one night, the first star blinked, then a spiral cloud burped silver mist over the second. Fenna’s paws twitched. Because she waited, the mist curled into a tunnel. Because the tunnel turned, the rainbow rail swung wide and showed a shortcut no jumper could have reached. “Hold steady,” she whispered as the crescent tipped.
Finally the third star flashed. Fenna rolled through the new path, fast as a comet bell, and landed exactly where the sleeping moon kept its sweetest light. She tucked her nose to the crescent’s rim, patient and bright, ready to set one new rule for Moonroll.
