🎨 How to color it

Try ruby red for the mushroom caps, warm ivory for the gills and stems, moss green for the oak leaves and ferns, and deep indigo around the crescent moon and stars. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny cap spots, leaf veins, pebble shapes, and tight spiral curls, saving broader marker fills for the large leaves and mushroom tops. For a stained-glass glow, shade each panel darker along its black outline and leave a slim pale streak near the center of the moon, caps, and curling vines.

The story behind this coloring page

By first silver, Pax had tapped his cap three times and dared himself to follow every spiral in Glasswood Glen before the moon slipped behind the leaves. He sprang from pebble to pebble, counting vine-curls, fern-knots, and the cool whorls on his neighbors’ caps while the air smelled of wet bark and bright stone. Halfway through, the crescent moon tilted, and the spirals answered—not as paths, but as tiny wind-tunnels humming the names of tomorrow’s breezes. Pax stopped counting and began listening, breath quick with wonder, until every curl seemed to race him forward by first silver.
