Every afternoon, Bram rolled to the striped picnic blanket and tried to make seven neighbors laugh before the lemonade pitcher went clink-empty. He puffed his cheeks, wiggled his seeds, and told jokes that smelled like grass and sunscreen. “Seven giggles or bust!” he cried. Until one August day, a pair of starry sunglasses plopped from a beach bag and stuck on his round green head.
Because of that, Bram could not see his joke cards, so he read the ants’ shopping list instead: “Crumb, crumb, pickle, crumb.” The ants fell over snorting. Because of THAT, the sparrows copied him, the ice cubes rattled like tiny drums, and everyone’s giggles grew too big for one blanket. Finally, Bram shared his challenge with the whole lawn: one silly face each. Next time you spot his shiny star glasses, can you guess which giggle made the hearts pop?
