🎨 How to color it

Try a soft cocoa brown for the kiwi, leafy green for the fern arch, tan for the twigs, and red with white spots for the mushroom cap. Use chunky crayons or broad markers on the kiwi’s round body and the big fern leaves; it is fine if little hands color right over the tiny feather lines. For a secret forest look, make the ground pale moss green and add one bright yellow pebble near the kiwi’s beak.

The story behind this coloring page

Tavi’s Bright Pebble Secret — Under the cool fern roof, Tavi tapped for one glow-pebble. Tap, tap, shhh. Read the full story →

Under the cool fern roof, Tavi tapped for one glow-pebble. Tap, tap, shhh. He stepped from his snug burrow into damp leaves that smelled like rain.

His toes got muddy. His beak found a tiny hollow under a fern root. Inside sat no pebble, but a sweet crumb. A striped beetle sniffed nearby. “For you,” Tavi whispered.

The beetle rolled the crumb away. Then something winked in the mud: one glow-pebble! Tavi carried it home, softer-footed than before. Can you spot where Tavi tapped, under the cool fern roof?
