🎨 How to color it

Give the bunny donut a golden tan, the icing loops strawberry pink, the Easter eggs mint green and lavender, and the daisies sunny yellow centers with white petals. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny egg zigzags, flower centers, and narrow icing lines, then switch to light marker fills for the donut’s round face. Try a soft blush-pink gradient inside the tall ears so the manga eyes feel extra bright.

Every morning, Kip tied his paper sugar compass to his apron string and ran the flower maze, delivering warm donuts before the daisies opened. He had made the compass from a bottle cap, a crumb of caramel glass, and a needle borrowed from the ribbon stall; it pointed toward the sweetest smell. One breezy morning, it spun wildly. The path of sugar stones had moved, and the Spring Dash bell clanged early—clang, clang, clang!

Because of that, Kip ducked under tulip leaves and found the decorating cart tipped in the mint patch, its icing bags hissing like tiny snakes. Because of that, he squeezed pink loops, pressed candy stripes onto egg shells, and shaped two tall ears from dough with his own sticky hands. “Hold still, little hopcake,” he laughed.

At last, the compass stopped trembling and pointed straight to the parade gate, where Kip carried his bunny donut through pollen-bright air. The crowd cheered so loudly the daisies shook. Next time you spot those tall ears among the flowers, see if you can find the round place where Kip’s sugar compass pointed home.
