🎨 How to color it

Color the tiger with burnt orange fur and bold black stripes, the dragon in jade green with pearl-white belly scales, and the swirling clouds in pale lavender. Use sharp colored pencils on the dragon’s tiny scales and the tiger’s stripe edges, then switch to broader strokes for the rocks and open sky. Try a cool misty blue background so the warm tiger feels brave against the green dragon and silver clouds.

Every evening, Keir climbed the high pass with a gray pebble tucked under his tongue. It tasted of rain and cold stone. He would set it beside the cracked cloud spring, wait for one silver drip, then carry it home again before the wind began to howl. The pebble had been his mother’s worry-stone, worn smooth by her paw, and Keir had never let anyone see it.

Until one evening, the spring gave no drip at all. Because of that, Keir placed the pebble in the dry hollow and stepped back, though his paws prickled. Because of that, the clouds curled down like sleeping shells, the pines shivered, and a long dragon uncoiled from the mist with eyes bright as storm glass. “That is my missing raindrop,” the dragon said softly.

Keir wanted to snatch it back. Instead, he lifted his chin and whispered, “May I keep one memory of it?” The dragon breathed on the pebble, and a tiny stripe of fog wrapped Keir’s paw before fading into his fur. From then on, the spring sang again at dusk. If you follow the tiger’s gaze, you may find the first silver drip where rain and cold stone meet.
