🎨 How to color it

Color the mother goose creamy white with a soft orange beak, the seven goslings buttery yellow, the cattails warm brown, and the barn roof barn-red on the hill. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes for the big goose body and rolling fields, then switch to a sharper crayon point for the feather scallops and skinny grass blades. Try giving each gosling a tiny different color on its wing patch, like pale blue, mint, peach, or lavender, so their parade feels extra playful.

The story behind this coloring page

Every day, Ludo tucked his striped pebble under one wing and waddled after Mama Goose to the trough, where the water smelled like mud and sun-warmed wood. He tapped the pebble three times—tik, tik, tik—because it was not just a pebble; it was his “question stone.” Until one day, it rolled out, plinked into the trough, and made a hollow boooong.

Because of that, Ludo leaned in too far, and his brothers and sisters leaned in after him. Because of THAT, Mama Goose heard seven tiny beaks whisper, “What’s inside?” The trough boooonged again, and a frog popped up wearing the pebble like a hat. Everyone honked so hard the cattails shook. Finally, Ludo traded the frog one shiny oat for his question stone back. If you ever spot a goose by a wooden trough, listen for tik, tik, tik—Ludo may be asking another runaway question.
