Snow went swish-swish on the pine path. Tori patted clay around a little cup, tap-tap-tap, then poured in sweet cocoa that smelled like toast.
She wrapped her long scarf around the cup to keep it snug. “I made it!” Tori chirped, hopping fast, flap-flap-flap.
Then a scarf tassel tickled her beak. Under it sat a shiny blue button she had sewn there yesterday and forgotten.
Tori pressed it. Ding! The cup played a tiny tune. Next time you see the steam curl up, can you hear swish-swish?
